Kunta Kinteh (the Roots tour)

You can learn about more then 300 years of slave trade history at this UNESCO place. We will visit not only Fort James but also also villages Juffureh and Albreda. The two villages Alex Hoiley talked about in his best selling book Roots.

There are two ways how you can do this tour, Either by car or by boat.

Tour duration: Full day

Itinerary (by car)

• I'll pick you up at your accommodation

• We will go to Banjul and cross the river by ferry to Barra

• From there we will continue by car to the villages Juffureh and Albreda

• We will take a boat which will take us to the Kunta Kinteh Island

• You will have enough time to enjoy the and explore the place

• We will go back to the mainland (Albreda), by car to Barra, cross the river to Banjul and back to your accommodation

Itinerary (by boat)

• I'll pick you up at your accommodation

• We will go to Denton Bridge

• From here we will sail to Kunta Kinteh Island

• We will also visit Juffureh and Albreda

• The boat will take us back to Denton Bridge

• By car back to your accommodation
